Title: Industrial Internet Based Control: Technology and Application 基于工业互联网的控制:技术与应用

Abstract: The plenary panel session invites four distinguished scholars to share their research experience and original perspectives on “Industrial Internet Based Control: Technology and Application”. They will present the research progress and achievements on industrial operating system based process-automation and business-automation, design methods and implementation techniques in networked predictive control, research and development of intelligent garbage recovery for unmanned boat, cloud control and decision in industry cyber-physical systems, in addition, they will discuss some of the challenges and opportunities in these areas. Through the dialogue and interaction with these renowned experts, we aim to gain a deeper understanding of some fundamental and emerging issues in technology and applications of industrial internet based control.
Chu Jian graduated from Zhejiang University in 1982, and studied in Kyoto University from Oct. 1986 to Jan. 1989, obtained his PhD from Zhejiang University in June 1989. From 1989, he was with Zhejiang University as a post-doctoral, associate professor and full professor. He was awarded as a Changjiang scholar of Ministry of Education in 1999. He is founder and Editor-in-Chief of “IET Cyber-Systems & Robotics”. He is founder of SUPCON Group Co. Ltd., founder of Bluetron Co. Ltd., founder and president of Ningbo Industrial Internet Institute, and chief scientist of Shanghai Jiaotong University Ningbo Artificial Intelligence Institute.
Over the years, he was awarded two second-class prizes for the National Award for Science and Technology Progresses, and one second-class prize for the National Award for Technology Invention.
Guoping Liu received the BEng degree in industrial automation and MEng degree in control engineering from the Central South University of Technology (now Central South University, China) and the PhD degree in control systems from the University of Manchester in the UK. He was a professor with the Institute of Automation in the Chinese Academy of Sciences, University of South Wales, Harbin Institute of Technology, and Wuhan University. He is now a professor with the Southern University of Science and Technology.
Prof Liu’s research interests include networked control systems, multi-objective optimal control and decision, nonlinear identification and intelligent control, and industrial advanced control applications. He was named a highly cited researcher by Thomson Reuters, Clarivate Analytics, and Elsevier. He was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt research fellowship. He received the second prize of Chinese National Science and Technology Awards twice. Prof. Liu was the general chair of the 2007 IEEE International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control, 2011 International Conference on Intelligent Control and Information Processing, and 2012 UKACC International Conference on Control. He is a member of the Academy of Europe and a fellow of IEEE, IET and CAA.
Renquan Lu is the Director of Scientific Research Management Department of Guangdong University of Technology, the Distinguished Professor of “Changjiang Scholar” of the Ministry of Education, the recipient of National Outstanding Young Scientists Fund, the Leader of Science and Technology Innovation of the National “Ten Thousand People Plan”, the recipient of Special Allowance of the State Council, and the highly cited scientist of the world. He is the head of the innovation team of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the local innovation and entrepreneurship team of “Guangdong Special Support Program”, the demonstration base of the Ministry of Science and Technology for the cultivation of innovative talents and the research team of Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation.
He has hosted more than 20 national and provincial projects, such as the project supported by the Foundation for Innovative Research Groups of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the project supported by the Special Funds of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key Research and Development Program, the Guangdong Provincial Key Area Research and Development Program, etc. He has published more than 120 SCI papers, including more than 90 papers in IEEE Transactions, and three monographs (including one in English). He has more than 50 authorized patents, and one patent has been commercialized into 500,000 yuan. He has received two first-class awards of natural science from the Ministry of Education, one first-class award of natural science and one first-class award of scientific and technological progress from Guangdong Province, and one first-class award of medical science and technology from Guangdong Province.
Yuanqing Xia received his Ph.D. degree in control theory and control engineering from Beihang University, Beijing, China, in 2001. He was a research fellow in several academic institutions during 2002 to 2008, including Chinese Academy of Sciences, the National University of Singapore and the University of Glamorgan, UK. From February 2007 to June 2008 he was a guest professor with Innsbruck Medical University, Austria. Since 2004, he has been with Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), China, where he is currently a chair professor, as well as the Dean of the School of Automation, BIT.
He is currently the director of specialized committee on cloud control and decision of Chinese Institute of Command and Control (CICC), a member of the 8th Disciplinary Review Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, a member of the Big Data Expert Committee of the Chinese Computer Society, and the vice chairman of the Internet of Things Working Committee of the Chinese Institute of Instrumentation. He was granted by the National Outstanding Youth Foundation of China in 2012, and was honored as the Yangtze River Scholar Distinguished Professor in 2016 and the Leading Talent of the Chinese Ten Thousand Talents Program. He has published sixteen monographs in Springer, John Wiley, and CRC, and more than 400 papers in international scientific journals, and has been a highly cited scholar since 2014 by Elsevier. He is a deputy editor of the Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology, an associate editor of Gyroscopy and Navigation, Control Theory and Applications, Control and Decision, etc. He obtained the Second National Award for Science and Technology (No. 2) in 2011, He obtained the Second Award of the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology (No. 1) in 2010 and 2015, the Second Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education (No. 1) in 2012 and 2017, and the Second Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Award in 2018 (No. 1). More than five of his students have obtained the excellent doctoral thesis awards from Chinese Association of Automation or Chinese Institute of Command and Control. His research interests include cloud control systems, networked control systems, robust control and signal processing, active disturbance rejection control, unmanned system control, and flight control.
